If he wasn't a parent all these years to her, shouldn't she know that he is an addict and it wasn't because she was unloveable? I am sure she is a great girl and you need to make sure you keep it that way. Writing this to you - make sme realize that I need to talk to my oldest son (10) about his dad. I hope you understand how serious addiction really is. It's not something that you can zap away over night because you want it to happen. Tell him the truth and tell her the truth. Don't be afraid of his reaction, be that confident about yourself and your boundaries for your daughter and your lives. Don't let him cross your boundaries or he will be in total control over your life and you won't even notice til it's too late.
