I am seriously floored by these two responses! This man needs to go to an inpatient treatment facility! Who uses meth, has an intervention, is parinoid from the meth, uses twice a day for the last yr and a half, goes to a therapist already and is still using and gets treatment on an outpatient basis? This is insane! I mean, come on -if these meth addicts HAD control to quit themselves they would. Instead, it seems like they will go to some classes (when they aren't too high or too tired from being high) just to make it look like to their families and friends that they are seeking help! The sad thing is -his family does not know about meth and because he and I were never married they don't consider me a part of the 'families' decision on what to do with him. I didn't know about the intervention until today (it was Thurs), and only when I asked his mom if they have considered it after we were emailing back and forth did she tell me this information. My child has LOST her father -he abandoned her for this drug and there is not a damn thing I can do about it, say about it, help make decisions about how to help him, NOTHING! I am so upset, hurt, angry and now with this information frustrated!!! Today when she told me this I saw a small glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel -thinking he will enter a rehab facility and live there for 30-90 days and get his shit together. If what you all are tell me is true -he will NEVER GET BETTER!! He does not have it in him to quit without some serious detox first -then some serious drug counseling as well as personal therapy!! As sad as this sounds, I hope he is so screwed up, high, and paranoid at this 'evaluation' that they say he NEEDS to be admitted to a treatment facility. If I get word of anything other than that -my hope is gone!
