Debbie, I wish I knew what to tell you, but I just don't, but my heart goes out to you dear. Maybe this will change things for her. Maybe the baby will make her stop and think. Maybe, if she can't be sober for herself, maybe she can be sober for her child. I don't know. I never drank when my son was growing up, because I wanted to be a good mom for him. Sometimes, having a child is a wake up call.

My step-daughter has been an addict since she was a teenager, and now she is 36 yrs old. She could never get pregnant because of a medical condition. But I always thought, if she had a baby, maybe she would get sober for the sake of the child.

But, however, I have read here about many parents who use. My own son uses, and he is a father.

But I do think that parenthood might cause some people to stop using. It's at least a hope, if only a small hope.
