I know that I have not posted in quite some time. I hadn't gotten any responses to my last posting so I kind of just kept reading. A lot of your postings give me strenghth each day to deal with my brother. Ever since he admitted in Decemnber that he was using meth and loving it, my world has changed. I really didn't want to deal with the truths because he is so far away and I cannot see it but more and more he phones me when he is high on something and admits more and more to me about his not so secret life. He says that he is cooking some kind of dope on the stove in his apartment, crack I think he said, and he is doing a lot more than just meth now. He prefers crack and cocaine. I was not aware that there was a difference. I thought they were one in the same. He said he now shoots it most of the time which he swore he would never do. H was calling alomst everyday and now a month ago he phoned and I have not heard a word since. He was pleasant that day and sounded good. I refuse to call him and feed into it. I have not given him any money, although he has never asked. I did not go to visit him out of state because he wouldn't want to hear me right now anyway. I don't want to ignore it but I have been told that if I phone him a lot it will just feed the "poor me syndrome". He forgot my kids birthdays, a first for him and I did leave him a message asking him to phone them back and I have not heard from him. I so desperately want to call his work and check up on him, but I don't/ won't. He is really mixing a lot of different drugs and the way he takes them....how long can a persons little body and his heart tolerate that? He tells me in such detail all of the horrible things that happen when and after he does them to his body. He swears that his heart stops and he vomits blood and yet....he's right back there. Can anyone explain to me the dangers (I know they should be painfully obvious) of mixing such things as meth, crack, coke, speed, heoin, pot and pretty much anything else he gets his hands on. His boss says he's pretty good at work the last time I spoke with him but I was told that he can be taking one drug to counter-act another. I have learned so much so fast about the dangers that people like him face day to day from these horrible substances and I pray for all of you that post and say that you are still clean, I can't even tell you how proud you should feel. Such an accomplishment! Day to day right...for all of us on both sides of the coin. I am so desperately afraid of that phone call...as I am sure that a lot of you worry about as well.
