The 1st post touched me deeply, as did the last one. I am right where you are Terri. I have not nor has her baby seen my daughter except 2 times in last 5 months. Had been over a month since last contact, then, the day her tax refund comes to our mail box, who do we get a call from,,My daughter. Needless to say, I told her I was not giving that money to her, I knew what would happend, she owes several members of her family that has helped with legal bills, not to mention, myself, buying every diaper, shoe, clothes, food that the grandbaby gets. (along with my 74 yr old parents who help) Of course she was furious, but I didnt care!! I called the WIC office here, for those who dont know, WIC is a low-income help with formula for newborns, and milk, cheese, etc. until a child reachs 5, anyway, they told me to send the ck. back, and then go to the Health and Human Srv., file for aid, and they would file a case for child support on my daughter,,what happends is I would recieve about 68.00 monthy from Government, but they go after her to pay back the money the Gov. is putting out. So that what I did, I dont want to use my grandchild as a way to "work the system" when we are do ok. Yes, it is hard, but we are ok,,others need the help more, but I did it anyway to maybe wake her behind up and see,,this family is tired of playing your game!!Anyway, thanks for letting me vent, but both post really touched home. And also, it does give me something to print and share with others who still dont understand what I am going through,my parents are just now starting to understand.
