I don't think anything works better then the other. It is all up to the addict to get the help that they need. Speaking from a mothers point of veiw. Tough love is the only option because the most important thing now is you and your family, not the addict. In order to get the serinaty that you need you have to be tough and let the addict take care of themselves. Don't let the rest of your family suffer because of the addict.
