You can't ensure that he is alive. You can monitor him day and night. You can make it your full time job. You can find yourself totally disappearing into someone who's only concern is what someone else is doing. I know because I have done it. It sounds like you are trying to find another reason. "but what about the sobbing? wouldn't he be more quiet?" (I am paraphrasing what you said.) Hulalea is right. Run. We mean to be gentle but some of these things are hard I am so sorry you are going throught this crap. It sucks big time. God bless you and keep you. Try to go to an Alanon meeting and learn as much as you can. I know that sometimes, especially when you are right in the thick of it, nothing seems to help. Just hang in there
