Like many of the replies here I have had similar experiences, however never both paralysis and voices at the same time. I remember once distinctly waking up, and being completely paralysed for at least 30 seconds. I panicked, but eventually the paralysis subsided. I believe this was ordinary sleep paralysis continuing after I had woken up. The other occasion cannot be so easily dismissed: One night myself and my partner were lying in bed, and had just had an argument. I was so wound up, I just turned away from her onto my side, and tried desperately to ignore her. Suddenly my head began to "swim", I felt somewhat dizzy. Still keeping my eyes closed, the dizzyness continued, and I began to hear many, many voices, both male and female, within my head. After a few minutes, I think my partner said something out loud, and the voices subsided. I am convinced I was awake at the time, not having drifted off to sleep. It was very odd, and the voices I heard were speaking other languages, it was very much like a babble you might hear in a crowd at an international convention or something. I've not had it happen again, and it certainly is possible that it came about through my stress at that point. I hope that you find some comfort in the fact that you are not alone in this experience! Good luck!
