Subject: poltergeist activity around children

I lived in a council house near taunton for about 15 years.
the day i moved in, i was newley married and 9 months pregnant and a dustpan and brush moved from the bedroom doorway and back again after i'd spent ages looking for it. That was just the start! Over the next 15 years, I had 4 daughters in 81, 83, 85, and 91. I got divorced in 95.
Outside my bedroom door was an airing cupboard with two doors at the top and two at the bottom. I began to notice the top doors were always open in the mornings and i blamed a faulty latch, so i tied it up with string with a bunch of knots. in the morning the string was laid neatly on the floor with all the knots undone. over time, i used bobbles and even rubber bands, that even i would not have been able to get off without cutting them. They were all laid on top of each other neatly in the mornings with no sign of any cuts at all. I gave up in the end and left them open, even though it gave me the creeps walking past to the toilet.
I used to have strange dreams and "talk" in my sleep. i dreamt that an aircraft had crashed in the war and the two old women in the house had got the airmen back to the house somehow and hid them in the attic. Both airmen died and the women cut their bodies up and put them in the water tank. not long after we had to have all the pipework in the house replaced as it was gunked up with something the plumber had never come across before.
I also used to wake in the night and open my eyes to "see" a blacker than the black of night figure leaning over me in the bed.
one particular incident had the kids running to the phone box to call me as i was down the other end of the village. They had gone into my bedroom to use the phone and it "jumped" off the side and across the other side of the room.
We all heard footsteps over time along the landing. the 2nd bedroom for the two oldest girls was always colder than the rest of the house and i felt particularly uneasy in there. They have since said that they saw a white haired bearded man peering at them through the ceiling on more than one occasion. Hazel convinced herself it was father christmas and they have said although it was weird, they didnt feel threatened at all.
Little things like keys, money, toys and trinkets would disappear and re-appear, in the same place you had looked a hundred times, especially keys.
Tv's would turn off and on and one night we were sat on the sofa and it lifted one end and then the other, like a ripple.
we had 15 power cuts in one year, even though our neighbours on either side were ok.
Things were getting a bit too much and in the end although i liked the house and the area, i decided to take up an offer to move to wales.
I didnt have any strange goings on in my new house.
The activity increased about the time my oldest was around 10. Do you think that activity and children are linked somehow. Having 4 daughters and their assorted friends in the house, it was always full of children and more things were happening and more frequently, although i never felt our family was threatened, it had a few hairy moments.
i'd be interested in what you think.
