You're right that it's not a sin to use leaven. Very true. And you're right that it is about "remembrance". But it's also important to do things correctly and not stray from how Yeshua and His disciples performed the Pasach. If we don't pay attention to detail, we will stray as the Gentile Church did centuries ago and allow paganism to infiltrate as it did. Jews have always taken great detail in Spiritual matters, because of that, we have the Scripture in its pure form. "Christian" Gentiles have always had a more "relaxed" view to Torah and I think that's not a good thing. There are some things that we need to stand strong on. Communion should be done correctly, it is of high importance and not up to any of us to decide where it can stray from how HaShem told us to perform it.
This is a Messianic Site, we believe that the way things Yeshua did things was the correct way and we strive to get back to our roots as we strongly believe that we have strayed greatly and that this is a time when G-d is calling us back to our roots.
I agree with my sister here, motive/heart is the most important and I think she'd agree that we need to do things correctly when we can but I just want to emphasize that here for others.
Shalom,
Rabbi Stanley
