Shalom in Him,
I appreciate your comments and I also see your love for the Jewish People. Many thanks for that.
When I said all the Jews, I meant all the Jewish leaders. I wasn't implying that it made Mary look bad or any of the followers of Yeshua. What I'm saying is that ALL the Jewish the leadership wasn't corrupt... and I don't mean only Joseph of Aramathea and Nicodemas. The Bible says they were "divided" concerning Yeshua... not all the leadership was against Him except for a couple of renegade leaders for example. I'm saying half or close to half of the leadership was for Yeshua! The way it is written in Greek and in its context, it wasn't meaning just a couple leaders were for Him. So now, looking back again... it made the leadership look bad. You yourself even pointed out that Yeshua looked surprised in the movie that a leader stood up for Him. In reality, Yeshua wasn't surprised, He knew who was for Him and He knew it was many leaders and all those leaders followers as well. That's why the other half of the leaders felt threatened. If it was just a couple leaders, that's no threat. If it's half of your ruling body, now that's a threat.
As far as Pilate is concerned, he was a rat. He was just as responsible as any of the Jews were. He had to be in order for it to be both Jew and Gentile who nailed Him to the tree. The film made him look like some poor misled uncertain party. No way, he was guilty!
As far as witnessing to Jews: Just say exactly to them what you just wrote to me
"a Jew that Jesus loves them so much He died for
>him? That He loves Jews so much He will never let them
>go, and had to go down to death with them because He
>could not bear to be parted from them? That the Jews
>are Jesus' first love?"
I thought that was well said.
Feel free to write anytime, it was a pleasure.
Shalom in Him,
Rabbi Stanley
