Subject: 4 yr term for Governor

I think a four year term for Governor is in order. First the cost to run this race is around a million bucks that is a lot of cash. Secondly, by the time someone gets settled in and rolling they have less than a year before they have to start campaigning again.
The house should stay 2 yrs, it is inexpensive to run these races and the districts are small enough. There is also no staff involved except for the speaker's staff person. The Senate should stay two years although i would go along with 4 yr terms with half of the seats up for re-election ever two years (staggered like the US Senate).
Lt. Gov should either be on same ticket as Gov or maintained as a two yr term as a balance of power issue. THe other Constitutional offices except for secretary of state could be made appointed offices especially attorney general or could stay two yr terms it doesn't make much difference. The one thing that would raise a flag is having the treasurer and auditor under the same persons control but if we had the auditor selected by the legislature that would take care of that issue. What do you all think?
