I don't disagree that local control is the ideal, but with local control comes local funding. I know you like to overlook that. My main concern in education is that there are communities where children really do get left behind. I support Magnet schools, charter schools, school choice and such. I support giving bonuses to teachers that do great things and the ability to get rid of teachers that don't cut it. THE NCLB act is a hybrid and you seem hell bent on forgetting that Teddy Kennedy wrote the majority of the bill. It isn't something that necessarily works in a small state like VT but it is something that can do wonders for many inner city schools that are neglected by the LOCAL control.

Just as a side note, you point to Deans record on healthcare. I bet there are a lot of people paying higher premiums, Drs getting underpayed, hospitals being underpayed and over regulated and amny taxpayers that are tired of the increased spending for healthcare while the number of uninsured actually increased that would disagree with THat achievement.

And before you try to throw one of your labels on me, I do not hate democrats and do vote for some, I don't like failing policies, those that blindly support them or arrogant little men that can't buy shirts that fit their fat necks properly. (jk)
