The San Fernando Valley in Southern California wanted to break away from the ultra-liberal Los Angeles which is south of the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles is over the Hollywood Hills. The break away effort failed because the whole of the city voted. The key word was "taxes" and $$$$$$ which the City of Los Angeles was sucking out of the San Fernando Valley. This for the same reason, municipal liberalism! The San Fernando Valley would be the 6th largest city if it would be allowed to make a break away from Los Angeles. Los Angeles has the most strictist gun-control laws on the book. Yet gang shootings, knivings, rapes, home breakins, robberies climbed a nifty 336% in the year 2002. Gun control works? Ha!! Sell me the Golden Gate Bridge! (hypothetical situation).
