Well sorry to burst your bubble, but a good size majority of people in vermont support civil unions. I am a native Vermonters and a liberal. More Moderate, but still. Why are you so scared about people not sharing the same views as you, Robert? If someone else proposes something new to you, you seem to just stick your fingers in your ears and yell at the top of your lungs so you can't here. Vermont WAS ONCE a conervative strong hold, but not anymore. I doubt that it will reciede in your life time. I am younger (20's) so I don't think you will something happen like that.

Deal with it! You seem to so closeminded to everyone. It's either your way, or no ones way. Leave it be. Move on, there is nothing you can really do. People come here for a simple reason of having a good life. If you don't like it, move to New Hampshire...they got plently of conservatives over there that will satisfy your ultra-right wing agenda.
