Subject: PARENTAL NOTIFICATION: Vermont law does not require it, and Fed law forbids it
In reply to: Martha Bigelow 's message, "Re: Parental Notification law for minors getting abortions is important!" on 19:57:05 01/06/03 Mon

Here is my understanding of this outrageous situation:

In Vermont, there is no law that requires parental notification, much less even paretnal consent, for a minor girl as young as 13 years of age to get an abortion!

In Mass., atleast State law there requires parental notification PRIOR to a minor getting an abortion.

The catch that the abortion industry and child predators often hind behind is that US Fed. funding of "reproductive health services" via such vehicles as Medicaid requires that - in order for the provider to receive tax dollars for funding - they are REQUIRED to provide completely anonymous services.

Once again, the Fed dollars entice policies with strings attached at the State & local level.

There have in fact been bills to require parental notification for minors getting abortions on the State level in Vermont, but I understand that the bills have never even made it out of committee for a vote in the State House. Quite an outrageous situation!

Here is a link to my article on what we found - in part on this very issue - at a local public school when we went to check out:

VISIT TO A PUBLIC SCHOOL FROM HELL!
