Well, its about time i started getting recognised for the hard work i do to keep the public informed on the butchers. Getting gossip is easy in thirroul but the stuff you wanna hear comes at a cost. Im not gonna mention any names but i think the butchers need a few sessions at the police boys with "the blaster" and billy corbett and co. Recently a high profile player from the club was attacked by a female in successive weekends. Although he did his best to cover up, he copped a few good shots that Steve "The macauleys mauler" Woulett would have been proud of.
As for nominations for the team of the century, im havent received any from anyone yet, so ive come up with a few of my own.
# Phil Todd: A very underated player, phil has been relegated unfairly for years to the lower grades at the club. A very big man with a killer sidestep, "wendall" put on many a fine displays for the club before a multi million dollar offer came his way to join the unstable austi breakers.
# Bryce Lowrie: Another player who deserves more pitch time in the top grade. He should also have been dissapointed to miss out on the Aboriginal team of the century, he deserved a spot more than ian russell or cliffy lyons. "owen" shows great pace for a chubby back and some of his bullshit storys are folklore in the club.
#Rod Henderson: Rocket rod. Ill never forget the sight of thirroul being short in the lower grades one day, so rocket, retired and criplingly old , borrows a pair of boots of someone on the sideline, charges onto the feild, carts up the ball like a man possessed and first tackle he makes, gets a man carried off. I also remember him coaching a few years ago, his halftime spray nearly lifted me off the grandstand at gibbo.
#Chris Adams: Not many fans would remeber chris, the younger brother of pat, chris spent many a year on the highly contested number one position as thirrouls ball boy. Chris was only about six years old, but he would throw the ball away from opposition wingers chasing the ball, he would call the ref a cunt and to this day is the only player ever to be sent off for eye gouging in an under sevens fixture. I think chris is a certainty for the ball boy position in this team of the century.
