Date Posted: 23:25:11 02/27/03 Thu News out of the Butchers camp is that officials are lobbying desperately to have all of their upcoming fixtures rescheduled as night games. These efforts are due to the alarmingly pale skin complexion of inspirational lock-forward Aaron Beak. The Gibson Park lights project, which had slowed to a crawl over recent months, was ramped into overdrive following Beaks much-publicised return from the Old Dart on Wednesday. Upon sighting Beaks milk-bottle tan, officials got the whips cracking and by Thursday afternoon the light towers were erected. It now seems certain that the lights will be ready for Thirrouls proposed Friday night season opener against Helensburgh on March 28th. Meanwhile, officials will continue their appeal with the CRL for all Butchers country cup games to be played at 7pm. After successfully re-arranging this weekends 1st round clash with Queanbeyan Blues, it remains to be seen how much longer the fragile Beak can be shelterd from the harsh Australian sun.
