Looks like you've got your hands full. The responses so far have been very good, and hopefully applicable to your problem.
I use a short latin expression to help me figure out if a person is under unclean influence.
I don't tell the person what this expression means, I just ask them to repeat it after me. People under unclean influence normally cannot/will not finish the statement, and will then become agitated, and the demon will then surface in reaction to your challenge of it. This is called "the clash". The clash is most important in driving out the unclean spirit. The very best defense for you is to not be frightened, but to be angry and thrilled at the potential of defeating the spirit. The spirit is seeking your fear of it, and will push you until it's satisfied that you are afraid of it. It is a bully, and needs to feel your fear of it to help it feel powerful and invincible.
Ask your girlfriend to say these words:
"Exodus Ordo Christa Dominus"
Meaning "Exit By Order Of The Lord Christ". Do not tell her what it means. If she is possessed, the spirit will know exactly what the words mean, and will react. Then move forward from there.
It would be very wise to have another person with you. I've been physically attacked during this procedure (choked).
If no substantial reaction, then feel good about that, and consider pathological disorders and psychiatry.
But remember that a problem existed initially that opened a door for the spirit. You may defeat the spirit, but the door may remain open. This door may be resultant from tragic childhood experiences like sexual abuse, etc.
If you're lucky enough to invoke the clash, take full advantage of the moment and take full authority of the spirit in the name of God, through the power of the Christ, Yeshuah.
