While I agree with most of what is said here, I will openly admit that I truly believe that Saddam Hussein supports terrorist organizations that threaten the safety of American citizens and has access to materials necessary to create biological and chemical weapons. Yes, Iraq is half a world away, but these types of weapons can easily pass most security checks and can often be carried on a person without anyone ever knowing.

The article is correct in pointing out that Saddam Hussein was not elected, but he is loved by the majority of his people despite all the actions we have taken to turn his people against him. Why? Saddam taught his people one thing during the Gulf War and that was to hate America. The more we do to harm Saddam, the more he does to harm his people and blame America for it.

It is my opinion that hating any group of people (or teaching hate) based on what country they live in, what religion they choose, the color of their skin, etc. is wrong. Hitler taught his people to hate, what is so different about Hussein?

Is war with Iraq a solution? I do not think so. However, SOMETHING must be done.

(yes joe, i normally complain about people who write mini-novels. sorry)
