So last week I bought a New York themed magnetic poetry set from an art museum. My first poem:

"New York"

ugly croweded community like a steel park
hurry you
work you
gray dreams fall off bridges
overwhelming beautiful days

Yeah, so, I'm ready to get out of this place. The only bad thing about my beautiful poem is that my home teachers saw it and they probably think I need therapy. I think I just need a bigger apartment. I'm tired of the little spaces and big heads (of New Yorkers, not me).

I am fed up so much with the arrogance of New Yorkers that I became a huge Red Sox fan and actually bothered to watch baseball. I was thrilled when they won the world series.

I am even more thrilled with the results of the election last night. The world is not going to hell! Okay, so it is, just not as quickly as I thought it would. I am so glad that Bush won last night. I'm even more glad that it was by a large enough margin that Kerry couldn't contest it and backed down gracefully. Who knew? He can do something right. Plus we won 4 additinal senate seats, and 11 states passed marriage amendments. I hope this will feed my fellow citizens some humble pie, although I don't know. Some of them were still arrogant today even though they lost. I'm currently on jury duty (which is another story in and of itself), and one of my fellow jurors was crying. Another one joked that the east coast should secede and another one threatened to emigrate. To her I say, please do. Someone else would gladly take your cushy lifestyle. These people are crazy.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi to my normal friends. Hope all is well with you, and God bless America! :)

Jess
