Well, I had a very interesting day yesterday.

After being exhausted most of the day because we went to the US Open the night before and I started work, Dave and I were discussing what we wanted on our pizza when a friend from our ward called and offered us tickets to the Republican Convention. I have no idea how he got them, but he's an investment banker and either has connections or donates a lot of cash or something. So yours truly went to party with the GOP.

It was so wild. There were THOUSANDS of cops around Madison Square Garden, and everything was decorated red, white, and blue. But the people were really nice, even if some of them were a bit TOO Republican. It was just a neat experience. We just sat up there in our nosebleed seats and watched everybody ignore several of the speakers (Miss America, some chick from "The View" who spoke about breast cancer, Bill Frist). They sorta perked up for Rod Paige, the secretary of education who spoke at BYU graduation in April 2002. But the real show didn't start until about 11 pm, when Arnold Schwartzenegger spoke, followed by Laura Bush, who was introduced by the twins. Both excellent speeches. Arnie was surprisingly eloquent, and Laura Bush is just a classy woman no matter what side of the political fence you are on.

It was actually pretty fun, and definitely interesting. So I went to work exhausted again, but all is well. They gave me my freshmen English classes back (they were going to make me do a senior thesis class) so I'm happy.

Kiersten, how is your class going? And what happened to Emily? I'm guessing she either moved to Provo or was abducted by aliens. Anyway. Just thought I'd share my interesting evening.
