Can I tell you all about an annoying neighbor/ward member of mine? I've never met him, but Ryan has talked to him at church and says he's a nice guy. That's great. But all I know of him is his obnoxious red mazda. Now, I normally don't have issues with cars, but this is different. This guy is obsessed with his car (Ryan says he's always talking about it in priesthood). And I KNOW he's obsessed with his car because of the way he drives it.

We live in a fairly large apartment complex with one entrance, and our building is on the other side from the entrance. This guy lives in our building. For some strange reason, I've had the unfortunate luck to be driving in behind this neighbor when he's coming home from work several times. And let me tell you why it's unfortunate: this guy is so obsessed with his car that when he approaches the speed bumps in our complex, he CRAWLS over them at negative 10 miles per hour. And not only that, he also turns his wheel sharply to one side before entering every speed bump so that his car is nearly parallel to the speed bump and only one tire goes over at a time (from the side angle, of course). This means that if there is a car coming from the other direction, they must stop and wait for the obnoxious red mazda to get over the speed bump before they can pass because the mazda is taking up the entire length of the road. AND, for the person sitting in the car behind the obnoxious red mazda (me), there is nothing to do but wait impatiently and scream threats of violence to the red mazda, hoping that one of these times the mazda's owner will look in his rearview mirror, see my contorted face, and either call the psychiatric ward or realize that HE NEEDS TO HURRY UP!!! Honestly, when I end up behind him it takes me nearly an extra five minutes to get to my building.

Maybe Heavenly Father is trying to teach me patience . . . it's not working very well . . . :)

Funny...and when I think of cars to be proud of, Mazdas don't come to mind. (NT)Emily13:49:56 09/19/04 Sun
