lilgumba already brought this up, but.... ACEN TOTALLY ROCKED! Here's my mini-con report, if anyone is interested:

First off, there were a LOT of lines this year. We showed up on Friday afternoon, and the line for registration (pre-reg and at-con) was well out the door. When we got up near the actual building, Sailor Bubba (if you don't know who this is, trust me, you don't want to. :P ) pulled out the pre-registered people (who included me! Yay!) and we got to skip into another line. It still took about two hours, though. On the plus side, waiting in lines is a good way to see lots of AWESOME cosplayers, and I dashed out of line on many occasions to get a picture.

Friday wasn't a very active day in terms of panels and events. (At least, not for me.) Mostly people hung out, socialized, went to the game room (Two DDR Extreme machines! Total rockage! Too bad the lines were fiendish long. :P ), or chilled in their rooms. It was a good day to meet people, because the alcohol wasn't out in force. (Unlike Saturday. : )

Saturday got off to an early start (for us) because we went to the Inuyasha fan panel, which was at 10:00. @_@ The main event of Satruday was the Megatokyo panel. Those of you who don't read Megatokyo probably won't care, but for those who do, it was SO AWESOME!
<MT fan-ness>
The first thing of note was that even though the line for the panel doubled back on itself several times and eventually went outside the con center, everyone was able to get in. This is because ACEN (finally) scheduled him for the main event room. It was a good thing too, because the room was at least 3/5 full. I don't think anything else besides the masquerade drew as many people.

Piro did version 2.0 of "Naze Nani Megatokyo (Live)," which was his attempt to make the MT panel more interesting than the standard panel. He covered the 10 resons why Megatokyo sucks, while wearing a cat suit and getting generally harassed by Dom. After the number 1 reason, ("I am such a hack. My art is worthless. I have wasted so many sheets of paper. I should just take this sketchbook and burn it. Etc etc....,) Seraphim came out and said, "Oh, the Drama," and shooed him into a chair. Then she read "Seraphim's top 10 reasons why Megatokyo doesn't suck," which was very cute. Of course, it wasn't just the two of them. Dom was up to his usual hijinks. (He tried to strip no less than three times, although once was at the request of a fan. He got duct-taped to a chair because of this. He also brought a very disturbing vibrating duck along, which was given to some lucky (maybe?) fan who asked if he could be Piro's monkey boy.)

After the panel, Piro did autographs, and if you are at all familiar with how he operates, you know that he ALWAYS does sketches for EVERYONE, because he refuses to believe that anyone could want just his autograph. So of course, this line took three hours to get through. :P However, Piro was doing the autographs at his booth, which was in the dealer room, so I was able to buy some manga before starting the long wait. :) I think the wait was totally worth it, especially since I got a little stick-figure ninja sketch from Dom. Your fandom may vary. :)
</MT fan-ness>

After that, everyone was so tired of standing and lines that we skipped the masquerade and chilled. We went out later that night to cosplay and socialize. Unfortunatly, Saturday was the big drinking night, so it was harder to meet coherent people. :P (Not as hard as it is to meet coherent people in campustown on a Saturday, of course, but still....)

Sunday was the big day for panels, strangely enough. Many of the industry panels were on Sunday, as well as the webcomics panel. Also on Sunday was Iron Guest, (a spoof off of Iron Chef,) where two artists compete to draw something using a theme ingredient and in 30 minutes. I've already been enough of a fan in this babble-talk-thing, so all I'll say is that Piro was one of the artists, the theme was "kawaii" ("cute"), and he totally mopped up. :)

Some more stuff happened, but it wouldn't be of much interest to everyone else, probably. Also, I'm tired. I'll let the pigeons write up the rest sometime. ;)
