Summary: Theresa and Whitney sat on the bed catching up on what’s been going on the last twenty-four hours. Ethan and Gwen finally meet face to face.

*******************************

“Oh my Theresa. I can’t believe he woke up and started kissing you in the middle of the night.” Whitney said, hanging on to Theresa’s every word.

“Yes! I thought I was dreaming at first. I was telling him how much I loved him, and wanted to be with him. Then that’s when I noticed that it wasn’t a dream. It was real. His voice raised and he was telling me that he knew I loved him.”

“Well, what happened after that. Did you just tell him the truth?”

“No, I couldn’t. I still lied and told him that it was over. I was so afraid of what Rebecca would do to him. I didn’t want to lose Ethan. If he dies, then my life is over.” She said, eyes filled with tears.

Whitney handed her some tissue and rubbed her arm.

“Well, if you told him that you didn’t love him, how did you two get to the point you’re at now?”

“Well, Ethan asked for one last kiss. A kiss to end all kisses he said. I didn’t want to because I knew I would give in to him.”

“And?”

“Well, he told me that if I didn’t kiss him, he would then know that I was afraid because I was still in love with him.”

Whitney laughed. “I can’t believe he used that line on you. That was the same line you used on him once.”

Theresa smiled. “Yes, I remember. My own words backfired on me.”

“Then what happened?” Whitney said eagerly awaiting the outcome.

“Well, I said okay. I thought I would be strong and not let him win. We started kissing, and I wouldn’t give in. He went on and on trying to get me to break, but I wouldn’t allow him to fully kiss me like he wanted.

“But then, right when I felt him began to pull away from me, I began to kiss him back. It was the most amazing kiss we had ever shared. I wanted him so badly at that moment. I wanted him to make passionate love to me, and never let me go.”

Whitney began to blush, feeling her cheeks become very warm.

“Was that when he found out that you still loved him?”

“No. After the kiss, I told him that I couldn’t love him, and that’s when he figured things out. I should’ve told him that I didn’t love him, because when I said couldn’t, that made a difference in my feelings.”

“I see, I see.” Whitney said.

“So he began to piece things together until he figured that someone was threatening me to stay away from him, and he eventually figured out that it was Rebecca.”

“Oh my goodness Theresa. You must have really had some night last night.”

“Yes!” She said dreamily. “It was a night to remember, especially when we made love.”

“When you made what?” Whitney shouted.

“Oh my goodness Whitney. It was so amazing.” She said losing focus.

“But Theresa! What about your promise to wait until your wedding night.”

“I know Whit, I know. I just couldn’t help myself. I love him so much. I couldn’t imagine going one more second without feeling his hands on me, and his kisses roaming.”

Whitney blushed again as she heard her friend’s description of lovemaking.

“And besides Whit, technically I did wait until my wedding day. It was early, early ‘this’ morning, and Ethan and I are about to get married in a few hours, so it’s all the same day.”

Whitney wasn’t buying the excuse her friend just told her, but she was happy all the same. She was glad that Theresa was about to get everything she ever wanted. It even gave her some hope that one day her and Chad would share the same kind of love.

**************************

Craig and Gwen were excited, for in just a few hours they would become man and wife liked they dreamed for so long now.

“Craig honey, you really should be getting ready so I can get myself dressed. I don’t want you to see me in my wedding gown until I step into the chapel.”

“Gwen, you are so old fashion. I’m not expecting any bad luck today. So if I see you in your gown before the ceremony, it doesn’t mean something bad will happen to make us not enjoy the special day. You will be my wife no matter what.”

Gwen smiled and embraced him. She knew he was right, but didn’t want to take any chances on anything going wrong.

“I know you love me, and I love you and can’t wait to be your wife, but please just hurry and get ready. I’ll meet you down in the chapel when it’s time to start the ceremony. Okay?”

Craig smiled at his lovely bride.

“Okay. If you insist. Anything for my sweetheart.” He said smiling before pulling her into a tender kiss.

“Now, I’m going down to the gift shop because I saw this lovely necklace that would look perfect with my dress. While I’m gone, please get ready. I want you out of here by the time I get back.”

“Okay, okay. I’ll be gone. I have no doubt that you will be the most loveliest bride in all Bermuda.”

Gwen smiled and kissed him lightly on the lips and departed.

Craig went and jumped into the shower. He was so excited. He couldn’t understand why Ethan was so foolish to give up a woman like Gwen. He hadn’t met Theresa before, but he was sure that she wasn’t as beautiful or as special as his Gwennie.

Craig wet his hair to wash it and looked around for the shampoo. He picked it up and noticed that the maid forgot to leave a new bottle. He wanted everything to be just right, and he wanted to look his best for his bride.

He jumped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist and glided over to the adjoining door. He knocked a few times and waited for someone to answer.

Right before he knocked once again, a woman slowly opened it and peeked through.

“Hi! Can I help you with something?” Theresa said on the other side.

Craig was speechless. He had forgotten what he wanted. The young woman who stood before him was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen in his life. Her hair was dark and full. He wanted to take his hands and brushed strands of hair from her face to get a better look.

Someone must have heard his thoughts because right at that moment Theresa took her hands and pulled her hair back out of her face to get a better look at the half naked man standing before her.

“I umm, I umm…” Craig was still lost for words.

Theresa giggled wondering why he was stuttering.

“Forgive me for laughing.” She said politely. “Would you like some shampoo?”

“Oh yes please.” Craig said embarrassed. I was in the middle of washing my hair and noticed that we were all out.”

“No problem.” She said.

Theresa asked Whitney if she would get the little bottle of shampoo and conditioner out of the bathroom.

She looked back at the young man and smiled. “I just hate when I’m in hotel showers, and the shampoo is all gone.”

Craig began to imagine Theresa standing in the shower dripping wet fumbling for her shampoo. Whatever man was in her life was one lucky fellow. She was indeed beautiful.

Whitney handed Theresa the bottles.

“Here you are. I hope this is enough for you.”

“Yes, I’m sure it will be.” He said never losing eye contact.

“Great! Well, so long.” She said smiling once again at the stranger.

Craig took the bottles out of her hands and said his farewell.

“Maybe we’ll meet again.” He said smiling back at her.

“Yes, maybe we will.” She said, and closed the door as he turned to walk back into his bathroom.

******************************

Down stairs in the lobby, Gwen went inside the quaint little jewelry shop. She was flying on ten just thinking about becoming Craig’s wife. She had loved Ethan once upon a time, but she realized that their relationship was nothing more than friendship.

When she met Craig at a board meeting, she didn’t know that their late night meetings would turn into a more seductive romance. She had turned him down when he first asked her out. She had waited all her life to be Mrs. Ethan Crane, and never gave other men a second thought.

After she made her purchase and was walking out of the shop, she glanced down at her watch to see how much time she had left before meeting Craig in the chapel. She was so preoccupied with the time that she hadn’t noticed that she was walking right into a young man heading for the elevators.

Ethan wasn’t paying attention either, and didn’t notice that the woman he just bumped into was the woman he assumed was waiting for him at the alter.

“Oh excuse me miss, I didn’t…” Ethan paused very surprised at the sight of Gwen.

“Oh my god Ethan! Why are…What are you…” Gwen broke out in a sweat. She didn’t want Ethan chasing her down to stop her wedding to Craig.

“How did you find me?” They both blurted out at the same time.

“Find you?” They continued singing out in unison.

“Ethan, what are you doing here? Please don’t stop me from going through with my wedding.”

“No Gwen, I don’t want you to stop me from going through with my wedding!”

“Your wedding.” She said looking on in amazement.

“Yes Gwen my wedding to…to Theresa.”

“Ethan Crane! You left Harmony on our wedding day to come get married to… to Theresa? How could you?”

“Gwen I am so sorry. I wanted to tell you that it was Theresa that I loved, but I couldn’t find the words or the right time. Can you ever forgive me?”

Gwen broke out in laughter. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Both of them had fled the alter to marry other people.

“Gwen, why are you laughing? Aren’t you angry with me?”

Gwen buried her face in her hands. She wasn’t sure how to break the news to her long time boyfriend. She lifted her face and held her hand firmly on her mouth. She was at a lost of words.

“Gwen, please say something.” Ethan begged her.

“Ethan, your not going to believe what I’m about to tell you. Do you have a couple of minutes to talk? I really think we need to settle some things between us.”

“Sure Gwen. I have a few minutes to talk.” He said looking at his watch.

And the two of them walked off into the nearby coffee shop.

*****************************

Pilar was worried to death for her daughter. The Crane’s were the last family she wanted her daughter to get involved in. Ivy was always good to her and treated her like a true friend, but for Theresa to be romantically involved with her son was a different story. She was very stern on him marrying into money, and Theresa was definitely not of money.

“Pilar, you better keep your daughter out of my sight when we get to the resort. I swear if she ruins my Gwennie’s big day, I’ll just kill her. Do you hear me? I’ll kill her with my bare hands.”

“Rebecca calm down.” Ivy scolded. “I’m sure Ethan will not do anything to break your daughter’s heart. He’s a very responsible young man, and I know that he would not marry Theresa on the day he planned to marry Gwen.”

Pilar looked worried. She knew that Ethan was in love with her daughter, but she wasn’t sure how far they would go just to be together. She prayed that they weren’t too late arriving at the resort. God help Theresa if she came down here to marry the heir to the Crane Empire.
