“Man, I can’t believe you swept Theresa up and flew down here to Bermuda to marry her.”

“I had to Chad. There was no way I could go through with my wedding to Gwen when it’s Theresa that I love. Gwen is sweet and everything, and we’ve been through a lot, but when it comes to passion, and a completion to my soul, Theresa fits the description.”

“I know what you mean man. I love Whitney, but I swear that girl won’t have anything to do with me.”

Chad picked up his French vanilla coffee and began to sip while Ethan munched on a small donut. They had stumbled across a small coffee shop to talk.

While placing the cup back down on the table he looked around.

“This is a nice place. Did you and Theresa come here the last time you were in Bermuda?”

“No. We really didn’t have time to go anywhere while we were stranded. In fact, I was trying to find ways out of Bermuda that day. I was fighting my feelings for her back then.

We were only supposed to come here to check out the bridal suite for Gwen’s and my honeymoon. But that damn storm kept us here over night.”

“Hahaha, I remember that. You blamed the feelings you were having on your dad and me. But I knew you liked Theresa even back then.”

“Yeah, I guess I did. Chad you should’ve seen her that night. She was absolutely breath taking. I took her to the dress shop in the lobby because we didn’t pack anything for the supposedly short trip.

It was such a great afternoon. She tried on outfit after outfit, and I took pictures while she modeled for me.”
Ethan blushed as he remembered the bathing suit she wore.

“Yeah, I saw some of those pictures at Theresa’s house.” Chad interrupted.

“Well, when she came out in her dinner gown I couldn’t stop staring at her.” Ethan made a weird motion around his head. “She had her hair done up in an eloquent style. Awe man, I’ve never seen her look so beautiful. I wanted to take her in my arms and never let her go.”

Chad smiled as he heard his friend go on and on about his and Theresa’s first time in Bermuda.

“And then I told her that I wasn’t going to eat dinner with her. I couldn’t Chad. I couldn’t be around her because I knew I would do something. But then the woman at the dress shop told me that she wouldn’t be eating alone, because another man would definitely approach her with the way she was looking.

Well, I couldn’t have another man around her, touching her, wanting her. No way! And sure enough when I walked to her table, some guy was trying to have dinner with her. I told him to take a hike.” Ethan laughed.

“You were still denying your feelings for her weren’t you.”

“Well, yes. I was engaged to marry Gwen. She was the woman I was in love with, not Theresa.”

“So you thought.” Chad said rolling his eyes.

Ethan gave a sly smile in Chad’s direction as he went on with his story.

“And then you would have never guessed what happened next.”

“What?”

“Well, we were dancing. And she laid her head against my chest, and I welcomed it. I was so intoxicated by her perfume, and holding her in my arms just felt right. I was fighting so hard not to have romantic thoughts of her, but I couldn’t help closing my eyes enjoying the moment.

Then a light flashed on us, and the DJ announced that we were chosen as the most romantic couple. Man Chad, I had to get out of there. That wasn’t supposed to happen. What were they thinking?”

“They were thinking the same thing I was thinking. Man, you and Theresa belonged together. You were fighting a losing battle.”

“Yeah, I guess I was. Well, now we’re back here in Bermuda, and things are different between us. We love each other, and I’m not going to let anyone come between us.”

“You mean Gwen’s mother right? Man, I can’t believe she threatened Theresa to stay away from you. What a bitch.”

“Yeah, well, I’m not going to let Rebecca, Gwen, Luis, or anyone come between me and the woman I love. Theresa and I are getting married today, and there is no one here to stop us.”

“Hey, well, I can play as you and Theresa’s body guard. I don’t mind hitting a few people for the sake of true love.” Chad said laughing as the two stood up from the table.

Ethan reached and shook Chad’s hand in gratitude.

“Thanks for flying down here in such short notice.”

“No problem man. Besides, you paid for our tickets, so it was the least I could do.”

Ethan smiled. “Yeah, well, I’m still glad you and Whitney were able to come. It means a lot to me, and I’m sure it means a lot for Theresa to have Whitney at her wedding.”

“Yeah, those two women are two peas in a pod. Whitney would’ve freaked if she couldn’t be here for her.

“Yeah, I’m sure.”

The two guys laughed and walked out of the shop.

~BACK IN HARMONY~

“What the hell is going on around here?”

Rebecca screamed, giving no regard that she was standing in a sacred place. The entire guest heard her and began to wonder what was keeping the wedding from starting.

Ivy came running down to the bridal room to find out what all the commotion was about.

“Rebecca, what’s going on back here? Where’s Gwen, where’s Ethan?” She said panting.

“They’re not here!” She said holding a small note.

“What do you mean they’re not here. Where are they? The ceremony is about to start.”

“Well, it can’t start if there is no groom and bride.”

At that moment, Pilar, who was invited to the wedding by Ivy, came rushing back to see what was going on with Julian not far behind her.

“Rebecca, what does the note say?” Ivy asked her.

Rebecca read the note aloud.

‘Dear mother, I left this morning for Bermuda. I’m not with Ethan. Sincerely, Gwen.’

“What does she mean she’s not with Ethan?” Julian interrupted.

“She’s probably following him down there because he ran away with that little bitch Theresa.”

Pilar stepped up to Rebecca.

“Say what you will about anyone else, but you leave my daughter out of this.”

“Who told you to speak to me in that manner. I know all about the love affair your daughter and Ethan has going on.”

Ivy quickly put her hands up to her chest, while Julian gave a “that’s my boy” smile.

“What do you mean by love affair Rebecca? Ethan loves Gwen.” Ivy said.

“No he doesn’t. He loves that, that…”

“Watch it Rebecca.” Pilar interrupted.

“He loves your housekeeper's daughter.” She said rolling her eyes at Pilar.

Ivy turned around and looked at her dear friend.

“Is this true Pilar? Is Rebecca right?”

Pilar looked at Ivy, and then at Rebecca who gave her a piercing look.

“Yes Ivy, it’s true. Rebecca is right. Ethan confessed his love for Theresa, and said he was going to call off the wedding to Gwen.”

“Oh my God.” Julian gasped.

“Julian, did you have something to do with this insanity.” Ivy said asking her disgusting husband.

“Well of course not. Theresa is beneath him. He wouldn’t dare. Besides, I only told him to have an affair with the girl, not run off and marry her.”

“You what!” All the women chimed in together.

“You bastard! Why would you tell him to do that to my daughter.”

“Pilar, you have no right to call me names. You’re fired!”

“Oh shut up Julian. She’s my housekeeper. I hired her, not you. Besides, Pilar is my dearest friend and I wouldn’t think about firing her.”

Ivy turned and looked at Pilar.

“Pilar, you’ve always been straight with me. Why didn’t you tell me about Ethan and Theresa?”

“I didn’t tell you because I thought I had talked some sense in those two. I begged Ethan to go on with his wedding to Gwen.”

“Ha! At least one of the fajita’s bitches knows their place.”

Pilar began to advance on Rebecca, but she dodged around Julian for protection.

“Ivy, you keep her away from me.” She said pointing a finger at Pilar.

Ivy grabbed on to Pilar’s arm and asked her to continue.

Rolling her eyes in Rebecca’s direction, she went on.

“Well, Theresa came home a couple of nights ago and told me I was right, and that she broke up with Ethan, and told him to marry Gwen.”

Julian cut in. “Well, now see. Everything is on track then.” He said fixing his tie.

“No it isn’t Julian.” Ivy said giving a stern look at him. “The bride and groom are still missing.”

“Well, perhaps they flew down to Bermuda to elope.”

“No, they couldn’t have. My Gwennie’s note says she isn’t with Ethan. He’s with that damn Theresa. I just know it.”

“I’m warning you Rebecca. Leave my Terisita out of this. Besides, she’s at home. I told her the other night that it wouldn’t be a good idea for her to come to the wedding.”

“Well, did you see her this morning?” Rebecca said, still hiding behind Julian.

“Well, no because I spent the night at the mansion to ride here with Ivy this morning.”

“See, you don’t know where your daughter is. I know she’s off with Ethan.”

“Oh Rebecca, you don’t know that. I’m sure the girl is home like Pilar said. Why don’t you call Theresa Pilar? I’m sure we will all feel better if we know where she is.”

Pilar reached inside her bag and pulled out her cell phone. She got through to Miguel who said he hadn’t seen Theresa, and thought she might have gone to the Russell’s house.

Pilar then called Eve who said she found a note in Whitney’s room telling her parents that she flew down to Bermuda to be with Theresa.

“See, I told you. She’s probably in Bermuda with Ethan, and my Gwen has gone down there to stop them. What are we going to do about this?”

“How could this have happened?” Ivy said looking puzzled. “I thought Ethan and Theresa were just good friends. I didn’t know they were seeing each other.

Julian this is all your fault!”

“My fault? How do you figure that?” He said rubbing his forehead.

“Because you encouraged your son to have an affair with Theresa, and now he truly believes he’s in love with her.”

“It isn’t his fault Ivy.” Rebecca cut in. “It’s Pilar’s fault for the way she raised that girl of hers.”

Pilar gave another look in Rebecca’s direction and warned her to shut up once again.

“Well, let’s not just stand here placing blame on one another.” Julian continued. “We need to get down to Bermuda and stop this wedding between Ethan and Theresa. Father will have a fit if Ethan marries out of his social class. Believe me, I know.”

All the women looked at Julian again, and wondered why he made such a comment. Then each of them rushed out of the bridal room, and went straight to the airport.
