"Who the hell ARE these people!?" He slammed his fist on the table--and winced as he hurt his hand. He was doing his best to look enraged--but the best he could manage was petulance. But his retainers knew beter than to laugh at him--he was a son of one of the purest bloodlines in Stonne, possessed of very powerful connections, and known for his incredibly short temper and hyperactivity. It was also whispered that his parents were first cousins...

"We don't know, mi'lord," the woman who'd lefd the abortive patrol replied. "They wore no coat of arms---and when I asked what noble Huse they represented, they refused to answer."

"Damnit!!" he said in what he thought sounded like a bellow, but really came of as more of a whine. He remembered the meeting he'd had with the Royal geoloist who'd accompanied him--and who revealed that the forest contained HUGE MC-Guffinium deposits not far below the surface, enough to suply Stonne's energy needs for years--and several villages whose populations would make a perfect forced labor pool. And make him a very wealthy in the process...
