Author: Rippers' Girl Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, they are the property of Joss Whedon, Mutant Enemy & UPN. L I simply am doing this for fun, and non-profit use. Feedback: Please tell me what you think -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As Giles made his way across town to Spike's crypt he got angrier and angrier. I'll make that bloody pillock pay for what he did to Buffy. When he got to Spike's he barged threw the door. "Doesn't anyone knock anymore?" Spike whined. "Oh hey, Rupes. When'd you get back to Sunnyhell? Thought you'd left for good." Before Spike could even say anything else Giles had him pinned against the wall. "Now you listen to me Spike and you listen good," Giles growled inches from Spike's face. "You will pay for what you did to Buffy. I will make Angelus look like the bleeding Easter bunny by the time I'm through with you." Spike was very worried for himself now. He had seen how Giles had gone after Angelus when he killed Jenny. He had figured though that it wouldn't matter what he did to Buffy because Giles had left. He should have known that it wouldn't matter if he left. If anyone hurt Buffy he would come back in a heartbeat. That's where Spike had made his mistake in thinking he could get away with it. He was very worried now and he tried to figure out how he could get himself out of this mess alive, well undead anyway. "Now, Rupert, old boy, what are you talking about?" he lied. "I mean I'd heard rumors that the slayer was hurt but nothing for sure. What makes you think I had anything to do with it?" "She told me, Spike," Giles spat at him. Oh, shit, thought Spike. Now I'm in trouble. It doesn't matter what I say because there's no way that he'd believe me over Buffy even if she was lying. He did the only thing he could in his situation, he tried to shove Giles away from him and make a run for it. Giles was too quick for him though. Before Spike could even move, Giles pulled a knife from his jacket and stabbed Spike in the shoulder. "Dammit, Watcher that hurt!" he complained. He didn't get the chance to say anything else before Giles knocked him out. While he was unconscious Giles tied him to a chair. Giles checked his watch. It was getting late and he wanted to check on Buffy so he decided to leave Spike there and deal with him the next night. Giles arrived back at the house in time to hear Buffy screaming, "Giles! Giles! Where are you?" He ran up the stairs to Buffy's room. The girls were all there trying to comfort her but she just kept crying for Giles. When they saw him the girls quickly made space for him. He went to her bed and gently pulled her into his arms saying, "Ssh, Buffy darling, I'm here. I'm here." She just grabbed on to him and continued to cry although her cries did get softer. Giles motioned for the others to leave and the did. He continued rubbing her back and whispering soothing words in her ear. When she had finally calmed down he let her go and asked gently, "Do you want to tell me what your dream was about?" Buffy thought to herself, the same dream I've had since you left. I just keep dreaming that you're leaving me. The worst part is every time you leave me it's because of something I've really done and I don't know how to make it up to you. All she said though was, "I don't want to talk about it." "All right," Giles replied. "Can I get you anything?" "No," Buffy answered, "but could you just stay here with me until I fall asleep again? I don't want to be alone." He agreed and pulled up a chair next to Buffy's bed. They were both soon fast asleep. That night Buffy didn't have anymore nightmares. The next day when Buffy came home from her appointment she had good news. She was making good progress and could cut back her appointments to once a week. She was also feeling up to going back to work. When her boss had found out what happened to Buffy she had told her to take whatever time she needed and that her job would be waiting for her when she got back. Everyone at the gym was very fond of Buffy and had felt very badly for her. They would be glad to see her back at work on Monday. That night at dinner everyone was upbeat for a change. Even Buffy was feeling more like her old self. She was happy that things were getting back to normal but a part of her was saddened by it. She knew that once Giles thought she was well enough he would be going back to England and she didn't want him to leave. She knew that when he left again she wouldn't be able to find anything to fight for anymore. She wanted to ask him to stay but she felt that she didn't have the right to. No one noticed that Buffy was a little quiet at dinner except for Giles, though he thought it was for a different reason. He thought she was thinking about Spike. I'll have to pay him a visit tonight. I'll work him over good tonight. Then tomorrow…tomorrow I think I will take Buffy to see him. She has to face him eventually and she's been doing so well I think know would be a good time for her and then she'll be able to get on with her life. After the others had cleared the table Giles announced that he was going to take a walk. Buffy wanted to go with him but she was still afraid to go out at night in case she ran into Spike. She knew that Giles had probably taken care of him last night but she couldn't find the courage to go so she just watched him as he left. When Giles got to Spike's crypt he found him exactly how he'd left him except angrier. "What do you think you're doing Watcher?" he demanded. "You'd better untie me." "Or what, Spike? You'll lick me to death?" Giles asked remembering when his slayer had uttered those same words. Spike only glared at him in reply. Giles set down his bag and looked thoughtfully at Spike. Then he reached into his bag and pulled out a knife. "What do you think you're doing with that?" Spike asked. He'd never really been afraid of anything before but he was definitely scared right now of the man in front of him. He knew what was going to happen to him and he hated to admit it but he was scared. Giles didn't answer him though. He knew that if he left it up to Spike's imagination, that Spike would think of things far worse than he would probably do to the vampire. Instead he just went to work cutting Spike's shirt off. Spike continued to ask him what he was planning to do to him but with no avail. Giles was actually getting annoyed with the blond vampire but he refused to gag him because he wanted to hear the vampire scream and beg for mercy that wouldn't be given. Giles started by carving random patterns into Spike's chest and back. Spike just gritted his teeth refusing to give Giles the satisfaction of hearing him scream. When Giles got bored of that he went to his bag and pulled out a lighter. He then lit Spike's fingertips. At this Spike start to yelp in pain. Not wanting Spike to go up in flames Giles brought his foot up and stamped out the flames, breaking all the bones in Spike's hands in the process, causing him to cry out again. Next Giles brought the lighter to Spike's head and lit his hair on fire. Well Spike was begging him to put it out Giles reached into his bag yet again for a bottle of water. He threw it on Spike's head to dowse the flames. Spike found out the hard way that it happened to be holy water. The water melted his face while it trailed down it, leaving it mutilated almost beyond recognition. Spike was almost incoherent at this point. Giles just looked at him. God, he's pathetic, he thought to himself. Angel did worse to me and I didn't scream nearly as much and I'm human! This was starting to bore Giles so he decided to bring this show to an end. He bent down and cut Spike's pants off of him. Spike sensing what was coming began to beg uncontrollably, "Come one Watcher, you don't really want to do this. The rest of it, well it will all heal eventually but this…" Before he could even finish his sentence Giles had brought the knife down and castrated him. Spike screamed so loud Giles thought he'd be heard across town and then he passed out. Giles satisfied at what he had accomplished left him like he was and went back to the house. When he got back he was surprised to find Buffy in the living room watching TV. "You should be in bed," he commented mildly. "Can't sleep," she replied. Then she remembered that Giles slept on the couch. "Oh, I'm sorry Giles. Did you want to go to sleep? I can go upstairs." "No, Buffy, it's fine," he answered. "What are you watching?" he asked sitting down next to her. "One of the old movies that mom and I used to stay up and watch," she said. They continued watching the movie until both of them had fallen asleep. That night Buffy didn't have a single nightmare. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ]
