Subject: Actually 1 second is 5 lengths and it depends on how old the horse is and also how fast the record is to begin with. ie. If you are coming 1 second off a record with a horse that is let's say 15 races or less. Then I would pesonally say that you have a pretty decent horse. However if you are coming 1 second off the record with a horse that is 20 + races. Then I say trash it and breed a better one.
