my personal favorite at the moment has to be one of two
either john mayer or anti flag which if you know of both would understand are polar opposites. i have some very good taste in music you may find, no matter what genre..
i've been listening to buffalo springfield over and over again. partly because i've always liked the one song of theirs i know, partly because i've been reading about the kent state shooting and the vietnam war and such(american history). we actually aren't supposed to be learning about that yet, what we're learning about is world war 1, but somehow my teacher got onto the topic of world war 2 and started telling me i would have been lumped with all of the jews because i'm an armenian, a "gypsy" he said. better off dead back then! i sit in the back of the class and talk so he picks on me alot, i don't mind though.
aaaaaand i'm done rambling..

St. Patricks Day

here comes the cold
break out the winter clothes
and find a love to call your own

You, enter you
your cheeks a shade a pink
and the rest of you in powder blue

who knows
what will be
but I'll make you this guarantee
see

no way no November will see our goodbye
when it comes to December it's obvious why
no one wants to be alone at Christmas time
do they baby?

in the dark on the phone
you tell me the names of your brothers
and your favorite colors
I'm learning you

and when it snows again
we'll take a walk outside
and search the sky like children do
I'll turn and say to you

no way November will see our goodbye
when it comes to December its obvious why
no one wants to be alone at Christmastime
come January we're frozen inside
making new resolutions a hundred times
February won't you be my valentine
and we'll both be safe until St. Patrick's Day

we should take a ride tonight around the town
and look around at all the beautiful houses
there's something in the way the blue lights
on the black night can make you feel warm
everybody it seems to me that
just like to be
just like you and me

no one wants to be alone at Christmastime
come January we're frozen inside
making new resolutions a hundred times
February won't you be my valentine
and we'll both be safe until St. Patrick's Day

if our always is all that we gave
and we someday take that away
I'll be alright if it was just 'til St. Patrick's day

For What It's Worth
Buffalo Springfield

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

ANTI-FLAG

"Red White And Brainwashed"

they use the flag to control us brainwash us to be their patriotic slaves program our minds by controlling what we learn the only difference from the nazis is that someone tried to stop them red white and brainwashed the government says they're working for us just as long as we increase their pay but the minute they get into office we're a has-been a yesterday red white and brainwashed the red stands for the blood of all the people we've slain the white for this racist, bigoted foundation the blue for your aryan eyes -- all empty empty because you're taught to bow down to the man "fly that flag, that flag of freedom." "do what you can for your country." go and fight their wars for them "they're not following in our footsteps, kill them!" red white and brainwashed they call that being a patriot i just call it ignorant if you don't fight to make thing better then you're the one betraying this country! red white and brainwashed

mucho amor!

Welcome to Goose Creek
By Goose Creek Symphony

I woke up this morning with nothin' on my mind.
Nothin's all I'm lookin' for and nothin's all I'll find

I've been livin' here for nigh on forty year
Here I have no one to hate,I have no one to fear.

Its just a way of life so easy to find
But it won't be on maps they make
And you can't buy it on time.

Just come out to the country when the trees are all in bloom.
Cleanse you mind and cleanse your soul
and give your head some room...

And you're welcome to Goose Creek won't you come.
The boys would like to invite everyone.
We'll take you there its not so far away
If you'll just sit back and listen to us play.

If you've found that city life is not the life for you
And you're wanting something old and tired of something new

Come out to the country when the trees are all in bloom
Cleanse your mind and cleanse your soul
And give your head some room

And your welcome to Goose Creek won't you come.
The boys would like to invite every one.
Come along with us We're on our way.
Pack your bags in case you want to stay.

Mercedes Benz by Janis Joplin

Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz
My friends all drive porsches I must make amends
I worked hard all my lifetime no help from my friends
Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz

Oh Lord won't you buy me a color TV
Dialin' for dollars is tryin' to find me
I wait for delivery each day until three
Oh Lord won't you buy me a color TV.

Oh Lord won't you buy me a night on the town
I'm counting on you Lord please don't let me down
Please show me you love me and buy the next round
Oh Lord won't you buy me a night on the town.

Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz
My friends all drive porsches I must make amends
I worked hard all my lifetime no help from my friends
Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz

Just one more - I have to thank Ash for turning me on to John Mayer - I'm impressed that a male in his twenties would write a song like this...

Daughters
by John Mayer

Album : Heavier Things

I know a girl
She puts the color inside of my world
She's just like a maze
Where all of the walls all continually change
And I've done all I can
To stand on her steps with my heart in my hands
Now I'm starting to see
Maybe it's got nothing to do with me

Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too

Oh, you see that skin?
It's the same she's been standing in
Since the day she saw him walking away
Now she's left
Cleaning up the mess he made

Fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters too

Boys, you can break
You'll find out how much they can take
Boys will be strong
And boys soldier on
But boys would be gone without warmth from
A woman's good, good heart

On behalf of every man
Looking out for every girl
You are the god and the weight of her world

So fathers be good to your daughters
Daughters will love like you do
Girls become lovers who turn into mothers
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
So mothers be good to your daughters, too
