I have a whole bunch of email addresses now:
* bsimmonz@hotmail.com (this is the one I check most often)
* kwirkygirl@hotmail.com (backup)
* bsimmons13@cableone.com (just for family but I don't check it as often)
* Elizabeth_Simmons@morganstanley.com (work)
* bethsimmons20@aol.com (email at Schatz Publishing - don't use this one unless it's an emergency and you have to get hold of me at work and nobody answers the phone, which never happens. I'm just listing it because I want to =Þ)
Or you can leave a message through xanga: www.xanga.com/kwirkygirl
Mom, mom, mom . . . you say everything is caused by stress. Here's what Medline Plus online says: Hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis occurs when the thyroid releases too many of its hormones over a short (acute) or long (chronic) period of time. Many diseases and conditions can cause this problem, including:
* Graves' disease
* Non-cancerous growths of the thyroid gland or pituitary gland
* Tumors of the testes or ovaries (probably not the testes in this case =)
* Inflammation (irritation and swelling) of the thyroid due to viral infections or other causes
* Ingestion of excessive amounts of thyroid hormone
* Ingestion of excessive iodine (like I just go around chugging iodine)
Graves' disease accounts for 85% of all cases of hyperthyroidism.
Graves' disease is classified as an autoimmune disease, a condition caused by the patient's own immune system turning against the patient's own thyroid gland.
Whatever it is, it feels like crap. I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in Tulsa on the 18th. Yay.
In other news: the divorce is moving along. We're in the "discovery" stage, where Danny has to produce a mountain of information, mostly financial. I'm hoping we won't be going to trial . . . I don't really know what's going on with that yet.
For those of you who don't know - Haley has found her guy. His name is Monroe Perez; she's known him for about three years and they've just been friends, but then she saw him in Kansas City and they decided they should be together. Since he's in KC and she's in Waco they won't really be seeing each other until April, but then she's planning on living with his family for a while, somewhere in Texas . . . I can't remember where right now. And they're planning on going to San Francisco at some point, before she goes to India with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) for missionary training. Monroe may join her there. More info on her xanga site: www.xanga.com/onee
Haley's friend Zack drove all the way from Connecticut to KC to try to convince her that they should be together, and her other friend Daniel just recently told her he likes her. You know, likes her likes her . . . so she's breaking hearts left and right.
Josh is doing ok. He's seeing a counselor at school and they'll be doing some testing soon so they can set up an IEP for him, which will allow more flexibility in how we approach this education business and keep him from getting any farther behind. Other than school he's pretty happy, as long as he has his games.
Sorry this is so long. Happy new year and all that.
