Glad you enjoyed your workshop Erin, I think you got lots of helpful advice. Anyways, the ideas for my stories usually come to me very randomly too, like when I'm lying in bed or having a conversation with a friend. They start off small (for instance, two girls in a class passing notes that control a teacher's fate) and then I gradually build on them in my head. I write it all on my computer, no rough drafts or point form outlines...and it constantly changes as I go back and read it over and insert things. I generally have some idea how it's going to end or what direction I'm taking in, filling in the gaps as I go along. Hope that partially satisfies your curiosity, and I'm sorry if I bored anyone.
