It was still difficult to see and the pack on his back was holding him back. The monster's blood was still thickly obscuring the water, but he continued to dive searching for the other two. Just as he thought he would have to return to the surface again, he thought he saw a flash of something below. He continued to dive, frantically, his lungs beginning to strain. He reached and grabbed the bloody end of a tentacle. He dropped it quickly. His lungs starving for air, he turned to return to the surface and saw Haaden above him floating down through the murk. He propelled himself towards her. -- The Clearing
