Subject: Speaking of ATMs

Just a quick question for the Pastimes crew: :)

I love going to Pastime events at Hammond Castle, and I am thrilled that the events are becoming more and more successful. With the increase in crowds I am wondering if there is, or will be, ATMs available. The only reason why I ask because I hate carrying cash around and when unknown/unperceived costs arise I am just curious if there is an ATM on site or if there will be. I haven’t noticed any in my wanderings of the castle so I am pondering. I appreciate any news you can provide. I don’t know if this is a Hammond Castle or Pastimes crew question, please process accordingly.

Thank you,
Lilly

P.S. BIG Hugs to the Pastimes crew, I miss you and can’t wait for our paths to cross again.

Hi, Lil! Speaking unofficially – but with some experience, I hope, given how much time I’ve spent at the Castle – I don’t think that there will be an ATM on-site anytime soon. I agree, it would be marvelously convenient. However, Hammond Castle is primarily a museum, and is host to small groups of tourists most of the time. Exciting and profitable as they are, the Pastimes faires are the exception at Hammond instead of the rule. I won’t presume to speak for the Board of Directors, but I doubt they intend to go to the trouble of installing and maintaining an ATM on the grounds. I’d be happy if they’d just green-light the clearing of an acre or two of brush so we can increase our playing space!

(Hey, that last sentence could actually be read as a legitimate complaint. The comp board finally serves its original purpose! Ahhh! Now we can blissfully return to the Gumby Frank & KoH Extravaganza; take it away, boys..!)

Hey, sexy pirate lady, thanks for the suggestion. I think it would be possible to have a temporary ATM installed, but durned if'n I know how to go about getting one. Guess I have a winter project...

If worse comes to worse I'll just have to remember to note that there is no on-site ATM at the castle.

See you at KRF, Lilly (hopefully, fingers crossed)

Mike, who can't type with fingers crossed

PS: I hate the Braille on drive-up ATMs. What the hell are those needed for? Blind people don't drive! Well, okay, the elderly with bad eyesight are practically blind, but still...

Okay, leaving now...

Hi Rob and Mike!

Sorry I missed you both at 3M, the pictures were wonderful, you guys looked great! *growl*

Anywho, thank you for responding to my inquiry. I agree getting a temporary ATM machine installed at a location that wouldn't need to use it regularly would probably prove to be more of a hassle then good. But hey I always liked the idea of wishful thinking. ;)

Speaking of wishful thinking, I hope you will be able to visit us at KRF soon, Mike! I have a pirate hug waiting for you. :D If not, I might be able to make it to the Castle of the Damned this year, so if you are there, listen for my screeches. ;)

BIG HUG,
Lilly
