The following text is from a special edition of the Mystic Cross Magazine(1983) published by Swami Premananda Giri disciple of Paramhamsa Yogananda(note that 'Paramhamsa' is the way S. Premananda ji chose to spell this word til his death in 1995).
Quote---"Like the Creator, shrouded by the mantle of His own Maya you have purposefully and most adroitly concealed your true self behind the veil of man's innate curiosity and infatuation for the mystifying and enticing supersensory phenomena. In your own inimitable way you have lured devotees for all time to come to believe in God and to truly live on earth by following the path of godliness."---end of quote
"enticing supersensory phenomina"...I always remembered his comment as it was Premanandaji's own stated and recorded belief. He had been with his Guru since before 1920. An obvious long association. He (Premanandaji)always spoke lovingly to me about Yoganandaji
Another quote:
Quote---"Upon my arrival at Mount Washington six disciples of yours my sister disciples took me to your quarters upstairs. Thoughts of divine grace and blessed joy which I recieved from you there in your living area for so many years filled my heart. The disciples ushered me to your bedroom. There on the white silken sheet-covered bed rested your body, motionless in sublime serenity. Immersed in etheric radiance your earthly form laid still still as the summit of the Everest Mount beneath the star-lit heaven of midnight blue. Even in death your countenance was shining in a heavenly glow.
We, the seven of us, stood in a semi-circle at your feet. I was near to your heart on the left side. We all remained quiet in silence. I gazwd upon your mortal form, and the thought of your immortal soul rose in my mind. I longed to commune with you once again. My soul prayed that you, your soul would come to us. You appeared before me, and I knew you were with us in the room. I placed my right hand upon your heart and motioned to my fellow sister disciples to do the same. Our hands jointly rested upon your heart and we all took a sacred and secret vow. I uttered the words and all followed me. I felt your presence.
To assure us of your presence among us and the joyousness of your soul you shed tears. Tears of love and joy trickled down the corners of both of your closed eyes. The disciples stood transfixed observing this unbelievable occurrence. Astounded and amazed, Lanie, our youngest and most loved sister-disciple, always quick with her words of self-expression-spoke out with trembling voice, "Can this be possible?" "Can...Can...?" She said this three times.
I remained silent in my joyousness. In soft voice I requested it, and sister Daya gently wiped the tears from your eyes. Sisters Mataji, Durga and others stood in silence. I enjoined upon them, "please do not tell anyone what you have witnessed here this day." They promised with their silent nods."--end of quote

Quotes from The Mystic Cross, My Gurudev: Swami Yogananda Paramhamsa -- 1983 addition Copyright 1983 by Swami Premananda Printed in the USA

Now, as an aside, it is interesting to note that Swami Premanandaji was never separated from his Gurudev as reported by Satyeswarananda. In fact he presided over the last Vedic rites for P. Yoganandaji in 1952 ( SRF has apparently removed this from public display ..sorry, but I am unable to scan original picture but I have it-- with Premanandaji standing there next to St. Lynn and Dr. Lewis)--printed and pictured in Mystic Cross. He visited Yoganandaji during his summer breaks, as he(Premanandaji) closed the DC Church for two months every summer. This is a fact, not rumor. Truth is that The Self Revelation Church remained Self Realization Church of DC until St. Lynn's death--for whatever reasons. It was only after St. Lynn's death that a separation occurred. This is truth of the matter, dispite what so many have rumored.
Also, some may find it interesting that Swami Premanandaji published in his church bulletins about Sevayatan being established in 1944, and I believe it is still recorded there. The Self Revelation Church maintains a close connection with Sevayatan to this day! He was one of the orignal founders. He loved and respected his fellow Sevayatan founders to the end of his life.
I personally knew two disciples of Yoganandaji, one of which received initiation from Yoganandaji and was later instructed by Premanandaji, as well. He(disciple of Yoganandaji) spoke lovingly to me about this part of his life several times. Both are now deceased. I hope this is useful and inspiring information.
