I was surprised when I first found out about the animosity that exists in the Ramakrishna Order towards Yogananda and SRF. I used to believe that with the two organizations being so similar, about a common goal, both from Bengal, and with Yogananda revering RK and Vivekananda and M and visiting their holy places around Calcutta that there would be a natural friendship between the two organizations. But I found out at Vedanta Centre in Los Angeles that they think very low of Yoganandaji. I used to wonder why until I learned about the huge grudge that they hold against him for using siddhis. Their leader at the time of Yogananda, Swami Prabhavananda, flew into a jealous rage and kicked Yogananda out and asked him never to come back simply because he demonstrated a common siddhi one time. That does not seem very religious to me. To this day the swamis (and other lay devotees) all tell that story with lots of anger, like Yogananda offended them in the worst possible way. It's so sad!
