I think it might burn some of it up on the inside and some think that it also brings up external experience as well. I don't know if these external experiences come from kriya, but the important thing for me is to watch myself and how and why I react to them. As I have understood it, swadhaya (as in self-study) is an integral part of the kriya path. It is self awareness, keeping a constant (and honest)eye on oneself, and it is a part of all the major traditions, though it gets overlooked often. "If I go to church on Sunday..."

It seems like you want to avoid something, and that itself should be dealt with and given up. Forget the past and the future, look upon praise and blame, joy and sorrow with an equal mind. That's what the smart guys say, at least.

I've also heard that karma is in and of the mind and to transcend mind is to transcend karma. How? Kriya, or whatever else one practices.

I don't believe in bangles. I looked into one years ago and they are way too expensive if you ask me. Don't forget about checkbookkarma! I would imagine that most of the time, if not all, they work in a placebo effect, an expensive one. Nothing is more powerful than the Self and a strong grounding in it, at least that's what the smart guys say.
