Subject: ananda mohan, SRF, and kriya


Ananda Mohan Lahiri was a bachelor I assume, and had no sons? Some time back it was posted that he was also given the title of Paramahansa. Does anyone remember that? Ananda Mohan is a person I wish I could talk to. Does anyone know if he gave kriya on his own the traditional way, or if he was empowered by SRF, or both? Someone asserted he was empowered by his Dad, Dukori. Did Dukori have any other sons? I know Hendrik said currently of all Lahiri lines Shibendu is the only descendant teaching. I'm suprised Ananda Mohan was not labeled by SRF for publishing those Patravali letters of Lahiri. When did he publish them? Or perhaps SRF was fine with it and lumps all the books in with Satyeswaranananda's after a certain time period. Seems Daya Mata was friendly with Satyacharan and Sanyal Mahasaya in the trip to India in 1960-62.
This is a shame that Satyeswarananda and Hariharananda spoiled the reputation of all other kriya lines. I may call SRF or write to them about this. Anyone know any more details?

Funny thing is most ministers will smear any kriya book but SRF, but secretly, particularly at commemoration services, they will quote the biography books on Lahiri and Yukteswar written by a Professor Bhattacharya. I know because I also have the books, and have heard several ministers quote them.
My roomate noticed at one of these services a few stories on Lahiri's life that are not in any SRF publication. She immediately approached the minister after the service and grilled him where he got it. She is a yogi fundamentalist and thinks you can trust absolutely no-one but Master and Daya Mata, and if it is a SRF material it is spotless, if it is another source its TRASH!!! This minister is a conservative one I can never envision approving of any other sources in India, but mt friend accosted him for 10 minutes and threatened to write him into mother center until he admitted the title and source of the book,. Finally he admittede it was this Bhattacharya book. I told her many of the monks have it as it was a gift to them by Daya Mata in 1960-62 area. She asserted this was a lie and an impossibility since Satan is obviously the source of such materials. Well, my buddy in New York has this very book, autographed from Daya Mata to Bramachari Isaac, Christmas 1962. Somehow he was given it by Bramachari Isaac of SRF, a dear soul and 5 years deceased.

Getting back to Ananda Mohan...Ananda mohan was very close to Yogananda and it no doubt lent a lot of power to YSS, having Ananda Mohan back it. I myself like the striaght information and like to decide for myself. I assume the ministers above who have the Bhattacarya books assume they have discrimination that normal folk do not. The catholic church actually publishes a list of "approved" movies and books, and approved the Passion of Christ recently. I think this is a bit foolish, but some people need it, or want it at least. It is certainly better than telling people everything out there is trash, but secretly acting different in private.
By the way, my friend is a sociologist and ended up writing the minister in to Mother center anyway. This is a senior minister. What foolishness.
