Hi friend,

don't feel offended. Everything is alright.

I am just not sure whether there is a spiritual map valid for all. Because what for one yogi is the crown of his achievement may for another be a non-issue.

For instance for some yogis Ishwara is an experience to be transcended in order to achieve full realization and arrive at the non-dual state. But for Ramdas it came long after he had attained liberation and non-dual consciousness. He said it was even "above and beyond" Para-Brahman, the third stage of his non-dual realization. So how to reconcile this?

Or cosmic consciousness. Yogananda said there are Christ Consciousness and beyond that Cosmic Consciousness. Asked about it by Mother Hamilton, Ramdas gave the puzzling reply that both are the same. And for Aurobindo Cosmic Consciousness did not have a fixed property but meant about everything one can encounter once the walls of ego break down, from the best to the worst, experiences ranging from realization to lunacy. -- So what is the proper place of Cosmic Consciousness in sadhana?

Ramakrishna, after many years of Sadhana came to the conclusion that all sadhanas and all religions lead to the non-dual state, and to attain this state was all that matters. At another time however he almost wiped this notion away and remarked, "You know what? God has spoken to me!" Something like this. What to make of it?

Altogether it seems easier to refute a common notion than to confirm anything.

I do not know a better solution than to follow one's own intuition, as you do, or to follow a fixed path and not care about what others say unless it is found useful.

In this I wish you all the best.

Hendrik
