In reply to: a kriya yogi - 21 Oct 2003 's message, "Re: Who are you following?" on 03:13:40 11/23/03 Sun

Paramahansaji gave Peggy Deitz permission to give Kriya outside the auspices of the central office. He also gave permission to others to initiate people into Kriya in the same way. Roy Davis and Kriyananda come to mind

This is a piece of sleight of hand which keeps cropping up on the Kriya boards. It is basically dishonest.

There is a difference between being asked to help with initiations (as Walters was) and being asked to be a teacher of Yoga (as was Mother Hamilton, Dr Lewis and a very few others). Walters was asked to conduct the purely routine aspects of initiation while Yogananda was alive, and when any queries could be relayed back to someone more competant than Walters. At the time Walters had only been a Kriya Yogi himself for a few months. He had probably not received any higher Kriya, and by his own admission was not ready to be a teacher.

Since (as you claim) P. Yogananda gave Peggy Deitz and a few others permission to give Kriya outside SRF it is clear that he could, had he so wished, have given Walters the same permission. But he did not. At no time did P. Yogananda ask Walters to give initiation outside SRF. At no time did P. Yogananda ask Walters to start his own organisation.

Again - what is the difference between Walters giving initiation and anyone reading at this board giving initiation?
