You are twisting events to suit your own ideas. If Yogananda did give Peggy Deitz permission to initiate and teach Kriya that is something very different to the requests he made of Walters and Davis.

"All three continue(d) to do so after Yogananda's passing."
- Yes, but only one had authority to do so.

The question you keep avoiding is why P Yogananda did not give the same permission to Walters as he (supposedly) gave to Deitz. Since you avoid the question I will answer it for you. Walters was not given the same permission because at that time he was not ready to be a teacher of yoga, or to give initiation outside of the organisation. P Yogananda did not ask Walters to teach outside of the organisation because he did not want him to do so.

"This is in keeping with the Kriya Yoga tradition of Lahiri Mahasaya and all the ensuing lineages. I believe this principle is important. It's called spiritual tradition, and is also our Kriya tradition."

No it is not called spiritual tradition. It is called BULLSHIT. There is no tradition giving anyone who wants to the right to set themselves up as a Kriya teacher. By your own admission:

"But if Yogananda, Babaji, Lahiri, etc. told them to and empowered them to- then it would have power."

So the issue is whether or not Walters, Davis etc were ever empowered to teach Kriya outside of SRF. It is irrelevant what may have been said to someone else such as Peggy Deitz. When were Walters or Davis ever authorised to set up their own organisations, teach Kriya and even authorise others to give initiation?
