"Your choice of words only helped make clear how strange this concept is to one who was spiritually brought up in the Indian way."

Strange? If you understand the "Indian" way then you know how important it is for Indians to validate the authenticity of a Guru, given the many pretenders who are out just to make some money and the importance of a Guru in their spiritual quest.

"He gave Kriya, he was a Yogacharya..."

Yes, Mr. Black was a Yogacharya not because he decided he had intuited blessings to become a Kriya teacher, but because Yoganandaji bestowed that title. His authority to teach was validated by that title during and after Yoganandaji's lifetime. This is in contradistinction to Kriyananda and some other monastics.

"And Guruji gave Peggy Deitz, Davis, Walters, Hamilton, and many others permission to initiate, and yes teach. I know this is open to interpretation, but as I said earlier, that's the way I see it. If you see differently, I respect that right."

Yes, and thanks, I agree with Ketch on this and do discriminate between Yogacharyas and the others. The existence of the Yogacharya title enables folks easily to authenticate these as authorized by Yogandanandaji; as you say, the others are subject to varying interpretation.

"I don't condone anyone just saying they have permission of Babaji. But what would you do, arrest anyone who makes that claim who isn't approved by the Grand Arbiter? (I use the term with some sarcasm, but not with any ill intent toward you!)"

The discriminating approach I refer to above is itself the Grand Arbiter.

Thank you for the discussion.
