Subject: Yogananda's 'Satan' experiences

I have always been confused about this.Yogananda came from the Advaita tradition,which does not have room for a dualistic opposite power to Brahman
yet his writings often refer to very personal encounters with a very personal
Satan.Could anyone offer any suggestions
of an explanation for this?
