Truth is, Vedanta does not have all the answers. It is a system of philosophy that came about based upon the highest experiences of Self-Realization of a number of sages. But there are beings and forces within Brahman, playing necessary roles in creation and Satan is one of these.
Satan is not said to be a dualistic opposite of Brahman. Brahman is something much higher, it does not have a dualistic opposite. Rather, Satan may be said to be a manifestation of Brahman just like everything else. If anything, Satan is the dualistic opposite of a personal creator God which Himself is also composed of Brahman.
