Subject: Kriya and hyperventilation

HI.
I have practised Kriya yoga the 1st tecnique for some time but I do not consider myself very advanced but can someone please explain if I am wrong in thinking that Kriya produces a similar effect to hyperventilation IE decarbonizes the blood, which makes one fel quite light headed and may I say a little blissfull.
This is a physical effect isnt it and not really a taste of the bliss of God?
Or am I wrong altogether?
Also I get a little confused regarding all the stuff about Kechari Mudra etc etc compared to say ZEN meditation which seems to bypass any real physical practices and tries to go directly to the stillness of Being .
I find it a lot easier to sit and go deep into the silence of Being then to do a lot of breathing stuff 1st but I am open to be corrected if I am wrong in all this ,forgive my ignorance but I am just trying to get to the bottom of this,I am prepared to practice Kriya if it is necessary to realize the self.
Thank you in anticipation of your replys.
