"How can a Swami get married and then remains a swami after marriage?"

It seems there is a example of this in Swami Kebalananda´s life. According to Satyeswarananda, Kebalanandaji lived ten years (1885-1895) in Benares in close association with Lahiri Mahasaya. "During this period in Benares, one Mahanta (a chief monk of a hermitage) ordained Asutosh with the extraordinary name 'Hangsa Swami Kebalananda.'"

"But when the right time came (that is, when Sastri Mahasay consolidated his Realization), Lahiri Mahasay advised him to enter into a household life-style. So he returned to Calcutta in 1895 and eventually got married at a late age. His mother´s desire was fulfilled and she was happy."

Several years later, in 1917, he became the principal Dharmacharya of the Yoganandaji´s Ranchi school, and it was from this time onward that he began to lead his life as a sannyasi, reassuming his former monastic title of "Swami Kebalananda".

His biography by Swami Satyananda, published by Yoganiketan confirms that: "Some time before, a certain head of a temple in Benares bestowed upon Shastri Mahasaya the very sagacious name of “Hansaswami Kebalananda.” When he began to lead his life like a sannyasi in this way, then his devotees, after receiving his permission to do so, started to introduce him as “Swami Kebalanandaji.”"
