Yes, it's Yogananda's belief in the existence of the documents which interests me.

Having said that, it may be worth noting that these few references to the supposed oral tradition of Issa all occur long after Notovitch. It may be that Notovitch's claims were the real source of this belief, and that no such tradition existed prior to Notovitch.

The evidence supporting the belief in Issa is probably weaker that the evidence supporting the Mormon belief in Christ teaching in the Americas.

I also know of similar traditions of Jesus visiting England, dating from medieval times. The same is probably true of many other countries.
