The ruined Abbey of Glastonbury
This is supposedly the site where Jesus had stayed in England with his uncle Joseph of Aramathea

I suppose that any of us who went to Church of England schools were brought up on William Blake's poem/hymn Jerusalem:

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the Holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?

But Blake's poem was probably based on the tradition that Jesus was the nephew (or great nephew) of Joseph of Aramathea - who took Jesus's body after the crucifiction. Joseph was supposedly a merchant who took the young Jesus with him on his travels, including a trip to the British Isles, where they stayed at Glastonbury.

Some versions claim that Joseph returned to England with The Virgin Mary later.

Quite recently Graham Phillips wrote a book The Marian Conspiracy detailing some theories about Joseph of Aramathea and the Virgin Mary living and being buried in England.

One interesting thing I noticed on the internet is that there is a tree at Glastonbury called the Thorn of Glastonbury, which supposedly sprung up where Joseph of Aramathea rested his staff. Apparently it is the only tree of it's type outside The Holy Land. The original tree was destroyed by Henry VIII's men during the dissolution, but a cutting still grows there. Every Christmas a sprig from the holy tree is sent to the Queen.
