There are clearly two issue involved here: the supposed infallibility of any human and the alleged failings of SRF and it's current leadership.

With regard to the second, in my opinion there has been a determined misinformation campaign on the internet for several years. Things are being repeated as facts which are simply not true. In your post:

"SRF, however, has been embroiled since early on in law suits and strife. Walrus or not, there seems to be little peace up there on MW."

In fact SRF has initiated one lawsuit in it's existence - the one against Ananda. YSS was also involved in a lawsuit with Hariharananda regarding the ownership of an ashram.

There may have been a few other events long ago, such as the suit brought by Dhirananda which you mentioned, but these are spread quite thinly over the last 80 years or so. As for the lack of peace on Mount Washington, is this view based on any direct experience or is it just based on the statements of anonymous internet posters who claim they are (failed) former monastics. In my opinion the views expressed on the Ananda-Walrus board are not typical of past or present monastics who I have had contact with.

Organisations may have faults but they are probably a necessary evil if Kriya Yoga is to be widely available. The real message is surely in the SRF lessons and the practice of Kriya rather than in any organisational matters.

Had Paramahansa Yogananda not come to the west and founded SRF I wonder how many of us here would have even heard of Kriya Yoga, let alone found anywhere giving initiation.
