Also, keep in mind that Mal seemed willing to let Crow live if he agreed to Mal's terms (take the money back so that his employers wouldn't have any reason to seek retribution). When Crow refused despite being captured, Mal killed him. Jayne was willing to accept Mal's terms once he was found out.

Plus, Jayne never tried to kill Mal, which may be a factor.
